In order to consume lower amounts of energy and to utilise energy in a more efficient way, our factory initiated the water cooling group project in May 2021. The goal was to invest in superior and more efficient technology to achieve a significant reduction in total electricity consumption.
In 2020, we achieved the lowest level in electrical energy consumption per box achieved in the last decade. Sanovel believes in the possibility of doing more with less energy, to achieve global sustainability. Our ongoing research project is on the Solar Energy System (SES), a natural energy resource that has come to prominence recently. SES is a clean, non-polluting, renewable, and inexhaustible source of energy. Our aim is to realise the investment in this project in 2021. The long operating life and efficiency of the SES will help us meet a significant portion of the electricity requirements of the factory, also minimizing any harmful gas emissions that pollute the environment. The end result would be a significantly reduced total carbon footprint.
Sanovel is a firm which regularly checks its environmental impact by monitoring any effect it would cause on the environment, setting clear goals and objectives to reduce overall resource consumption. It does this so with an intent to hand over a healthy and clean environment to the future generations, considering the same as a fundamental duty.
We worked closely with the AFAD (the Government Department charged with management of natural disasters and emergencies) to distribute hand disinfectants to aid the victims of the Izmir earthquake.
In order to meet the increasing disinfectant needs of AKUT aid teams who carried out field work in the Izmir earthquake, we subsequently began delivering our own disinfectants to the earthquake area.
In cooperation with the GEA Search and Rescue Team, as part of the "Rural Sister Schools" Project in Samsun and Bingöl, we sent disinfectants and aid packages to over 200 students who needed help in 3 rural schools.
